"Significant Increase in Serious Heart Disorders and Atrial Fibrillation Cases in the United Kingdom"

The British Heart Foundation has released a news report announcing an increase in the number of people diagnosed with serious heart disorders to 1.5 million individuals in the United Kingdom, which is a significantly high number.

The report also mentions that the number of individuals affected by atrial fibrillation has risen from one million people in 2013 to over 1.5 million in 2023, indicating a 50% increase.

Currently, one out of every 45 individuals in the United Kingdom suffers from atrial fibrillation. Serious heart disorders increase the risk of fatal conditions such as stroke, with atrial fibrillation being the most common cause of heart rhythm disorders, contributing to one in every five stroke cases.

The increased awareness of the risks and symptoms of atrial fibrillation may be a reason behind the rise in the number of people diagnosed with the condition.

However, it is believed that around 270,000 individuals in the United Kingdom are affected by atrial fibrillation without a diagnosis or awareness of their condition.

Efforts are now being made to propose easier and faster methods for diagnosing atrial fibrillation.
